This 1997 jeep cherokee xj sport has been a lovely unit to drive. Selling it due to not having the time to sort out things that could and need to be worked on. Also with it being my daily driver, it may be more suited to an off roader due to the potential locked rear diff or someone who would want to sell it for parts. It had no service history from the previous owner so since having it I wanted to ensure it got some love. Previous owner did mention a new radiator was installed, no paperwork though. I don’t have the time to keep going with this beauty and also have plans to travel overseas next year. The engine and transmission is very healthy, the mechanic I go to says it is the best Cherokee he has worked on and he has seen many of them. He has also mentioned the suspension components are in good condition and no noticeable wear, bushings are in good conditions, bump stops could be changed in the future. It failed its last WOF due to having drip rail rust so it was at the shop for while getting that sorted and other components stated below sorted too. Since purchasing it mid last year it has had - Replacement of wheel bearings - 4 new tyres - Steering wheel box replacement. - Damper bar replacement. - A decent rust removal job on the drip rail on all doors was done too. There is no noticeable underbody rust on this unit too which is great. - A JVC KW-M590BT carplay radio - A starry roof top. Also comes with roof racks and the bull bar. WOF until March 2027 Rego until 8th Dec 2026 ODO- 238 6XX (will go up a bit due to driving) Things that need working on: - Hazard light works on and off (could be due to loose relay or wiring) - ABS light doesn’t show up when starting, ABS module has been repaired but still no light - Both passenger side windows need switch replacements as they don’t work - Rear diff is supposedly locked/welded according to the mechanic due to previous owners using it for mainly off roading. Since I used it as a daily driver it would make a clunking noise when slowing down or reversing at times. Hasn’t caused issues but still will need work depending on the use. Mechanic only suspects this is the reason for the clunking noise. When the tyres got changed over alongside the bearings another mechanic opened the diff and mentioned nothing about anything being broken so can only say it has been locked. I don’t have the time to get this looked at to confirm. - A bit of coolant was leaking but took it to the mechanic yesterday and he noticed a hose clamp was loose, no issues since but will update if any arise. - Upper head console no longer working I am very open to offers
